EAST OF SCOTLAND CHAMPIONSHIP 2025

^ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for the East of Scotland Championship, entrants must:

• Be a member of one of the participating Counties/Merged Bodies that form the East Division of Scotland (East Lothian Ladies County Golf Association; Fife Golf; Midlothian County Ladies Golf Association; Stirling & Clackmannan County Ladies Golf Association).
• Be of amateur status as defined by R&A Rules Limited.
• Be a female or non-binary player whose sex assigned at birth was female.
• In possession of a WHSTM Handicap Index®.

ENTRIES

1. Will be administered by Fife Golf and all entries must be made via the Scottish Golf APP, with payment  (£20) made by card at time of entry. In the Scottish Golf APP, select the Events tab and then search for “Fife Golf” (do not select FCLGA or FGA) and ensure that you select the “Open” tab, which should then display the East of Scotland Championship 2025 entry page.

2. Entries will open on Monday 4th August 2025 at 09:00 and close on Sunday 21st September at 09:00.
3. The number of entries may be limited to a maximum of 90 by the organising County. In the event of the Competition being oversubscribed, priority will be given the lower HI in handicap order prior to the closing date. The draw will be based on the handicap index on the day of the draw and be made from high to low HI. After the closing date, the organisers may, at their discretion, allow late entries strictly in the order they are received.
4. There will be no refunds given for cancellations after the draw has been published.
5. The Committee reserves the right to alter the rules of entry and the Terms of the Competition (including the prohibition or restriction of use of sit-on motorised vehicles for safety or other good reasons).

TERMS OF COMPETITION

1. This Competition is organised by the East of Scotland Committee and shall be played over 18 holes, stroke play. It will be played towards the end of the playing season, by rotation at clubs within the four Counties of the East Division of Scotland.
2.  The Competition shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by R&A Rules Limited and any Local Rules or Additional Rules introduced by the Organising Committee.
3. The use of Caddies will be allowed.
4. The use Golf Buggies is permitted under the East of Scotland Division Transportation Policy. Any player requiring the use of a buggy must get permission from the organising committee and sign the Transportation Policy Consent Form.
5. In the event of the competition having to be cancelled due to due to bad weather then the competition would be cancelled and either replayed at another time or cancelled completely.
6. TEAM COMPETITION – Counties must inform the organisers of the four team members no less than 30 minutes prior to the first tee off time.

• The best 3 gross scores count towards the Team Trophy.
• In the event of a tie for the Team Trophy, the fourth gross score will count for the total Team Score. If there is still a tie, a count back of the best individual gross scores will count from the lowest to the highest in each team.
• There should be a consensus of at least two County Captains or representatives.
• Junior Girls should be encouraged to play.

7. The East of Scotland Champion shall be the player with the lowest gross score over the 18 holes. In the event of a tie, a count back on the back nine of the last 9/6/3/1 holes will count. If still a tie, there will be a count back on the front 9 of the last 9/6/3/1 holes will count. If there is still a tie, there will be a joint winner of the East of Scotland Championship.
8. Vouchers will be awarded for the gross scores to the Champion, Runner-Up and the third place player. Depending on the number of entries, the Organising Committee may award handicap prizes for 1st, 2nd and third places.
