Well done to Gabrielle MacDonald (Craigielaw GC) runner up to West Lintons Gemma Batty at the Scottish Women’s Amateur at Elie GC.
Gabrielle had a well fought fight on the road to the final. Gabrielle beat Chloe Goadby (St Regulas Ladies GC) in the quarters at the 23rd hole on Friday morning. She then went on to play the semi final in the afternoon and beat Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey GC) with a birdie finish at the 21st hole.
The Final was an exciting match with never more than 1 hole in it except for the 12th where Gemma briefly went 2 up. Gabrielle fought back and the match was all square after 15. The players had 9 birdies between them keeping the spectators entertained to the 18th where Gemma Batty won the last hole to be crowned Scottish Ladies Champion 2018.
What an excellent display of determination, concentration and competitive spirit.Β  A well fought battle!
Gabrielle , Hannah Darling and Karen Marshall represented MCLGA very well in the team competition, finishing second.
