County Ladies greatly appreciated being granted the courtesy of the course for
their Autumn Meeting at Prestonfield today. The sun shone and there was a light
easterly wind. Those of the players who went into the rough found the going difficult
and this showed in some of the scores (the CSS went up by 2).
There were,
however, some very good scores. Claire Hargan (Prestonfield) won the Lady Ford
cup for the best Scratch Score with a 74 and Fiona de Vries won the second scratch
with a 77. The McIntyre Trophy for the best net score was won by Elizabeth Smith
(Murrayfield) with a net 71 with the best last 6 holes, from Marge Gammie (Ratho
Park), who also had a net 71.
