Liz Stewart (Greenburn) - 2004 Champion of Champions and Winner of the Antonio Vase

Liz Stewart (Greenburn), beat Noreen Fenton (Merchants of Edinburgh), at the thirteenth hole of the Royal Burgess Golfing Society's course at Barnton this afternoon, to win the Antonio Vase and the Midlothian Champion of Champions tournament for the first time. A good crowd of supporters were treated to an excellent game.

The players appreciated the opportunity to play the Royal Burgess Golf Course. Thanks go to the Royal Burgess for granting courtesy of the course and to the Ladies Golf Centre of Edinburgh for their sponsorship of this competition.

The beaten semi-finalists in this competition were Alysen Scrimgeous (Dundas Parks) and Caroline Johnstone (Ratho Park)

Liz started with par 4's at the first and second to go two up. The third and fourth were halved in 5's. Noreen played an exquisite bunker shot at the 145 yard 5th to escape with a half and par 3. The sixth and seventh holes were halved in 5's. At the 138 yard eighth Noreen's tee shot finished in the rough at the side of the green and she failed to get down in two, Liz winning the hole with a 3. Liz won the ninth with a par 4 to a 5 to go out in 38 and be four up at the turn. Liz then played the next four holes in regulation par golf to win the match and the championship by 6&5. She was one over 4's for the holes playerd
