It may seem a long time away, but occasions such as this creep up on you fast... and we want to make sure that we celebrate in the best way possible. At the MCLGA AGM in October 2003, Gillian Kirkwood asked for volunteers to form a committee to discuss and plan for the Centenary. If you would like to be a member of this committee, please email Gill Midlothian had some very good golfers in 1909. At the first meeting to decide whether a County Club was viable, those attending included the reigning Scottish Champion (Dorothy Campbell) and British Champion ( Maud Titterton) as well as Miss Stevenson (Charlotte Beddows) and other prominent golfers. From this auspicious start, a very thriving club was formed, and after the First World War we won the Scottish County Shield eight times out of nine! MCLGA history is fascinating and we will certainly be concentrating on developing this aspect, and will be using this website to store the information we collect. By 2009, we might well have enough for a book! We would be very interested in any reminiscences, photographs, letters, records, indeed anything pertaining to Midlothian Ladies history (even recent events) Get up in the attic and start looking!
